About Us

Our History
It began in 1922 when the Mankato Area Chamber of Commerce asked the Lutheran Church to build a retirement home for the community's elderly. Fifteen years later, Mankato Lutheran Home opened as a 39-bed home for women.

Since that time, Mankato Lutheran Homes and Community Services expanded its mission to meet the changing needs of older adults. From skilled care to community outreach programs, Mankato Lutheran Homes and Community Services enables older adults to remain healthy, independent and in their own homes for as long as possible. Programs and services include skilled nursing care, assisted living apartments and suites with support services, home health care, adult day services, Lifeline® and support groups for caregivers.

Throughout the years, we have become known for our quality care, concern, compassion and gracious hospitality.
